Michael Day was once again elected as President of the Chalfont St Peter Chamber of Commerce
The Chalfont St Peter Chamber of Commerce again elected Michael Day of Integra Property Services as their President for the forthcoming year. Dan Webb was elected as Senior Vice President. At the AGM held at the Community Centre on 8th April, Michael was delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue to build on the positive work carried out by the Chamber in recent years. In his acceptance address he said "Over the last 12-18 months we have seen considerable progress and I am proud of the way that the Chamber has helped succcessfully get a return to an hours free carparking in the village, organised the window dressing competition in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness, organised the Christmas Fun Night and Xmas tree on Gold Hill Common as well as providing representation on many other local committees and groups with the aim of supporting local business and community. We also erected a new and very smart notice board outside HSBC Bank and have an ever improving website at www.cspchamber.org. This year we are involved in helping deliver the Feast Day (www.feastofstpeter.org.uk) celebrations in June which will be a huge village event and the Fun Night in December will see the Market Place closed to traffic for the evening in order to better facilitate pedestrian flow and safety. One of my aims this year, particularly given the current challenging economic climate, is to encourage customers to buy their goods and services locally. As a Chamber we are totally reliant on volunteers and on subscriptions for our funds. I would therefore very much like to see many more local business people getting involved both by joining the Chamber and through participating on committees and projects etc. In that regard, I am delighted to welcome Nathan Mincham from Expressions Interiors and Matt Thomas and Paul Silver from First Financial Solutions onto the committee. I also want to explore the possibility of increasing the Chamber's coverage to include businesses on the periphery of Chalfont St Peter who currently do not benefit from any Chamber representation or involvement. |
