Following the introduction of mandatory HIPs for 4 bedroom plus property on August 1st, HIPs will become a requirement for anyone selling a 3 bedroom property and bringing it to the market on or after 10th September 2007.

4 bedroom plus property represents some 17% of the UK housing stock and 3 bedroom properties a further 50% and so from mid September around two thirds of properties will require a HIP to be produced.
